These rules are created to prevent the failure of key barriers in what may be a chain of events leading up to an unsafe act, they are a tangible contribution to strengthening AFCO safety culture to achieve “zero serious incidents” and are shared across AFCO businesses and operations.
Hazard & Risk Assessment
Know the hazards and their risks before you start a risky or technical job.
PPE
Always wear appropriate PPE when working and in designated areas.
Permit to work (PTW)
Always work with a valid Permit to Work.
Lifting Operations
Always follow the prescribed Lifting Plan.
Stop Work
Confined space
Obtain authorization before entering a confined space & conduct gas test when required.
Road safety
Smoking
Do not smoke outside designated smoking areas.
Alcohol & Drugs
Isolations
Verify isolation before work begins and use life protecting equipment.
Working at height
Protect yourself against a fall when working at heights.
Housekeeping & waste segregation
Maintain the workplace clean and tidy & segregate the waste.
